Perfect location. Amazing view right from the living room. Miranda is an awesome host with her super responsiveness and helpful recommendations. I would just recommend to clean for utensils before using as we found spots. Will come back again!!!

What an amazing location. The condo faced a secluded beach that is a sea turtle feeding area. We spent our beach time watching the sea turtles swim and come up on the beach to sunbathe. The condo faced the beach and was a great spot to sit and relax in the mornings. The unit was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. My husband swam laps every morning in the pool. We would rent this unit again.

We love staying at Kuleana and have stayed at this property multiple times. It feels so private, tranquil, and friendly compared to some of the other larger resorts. This was our first time on vacation with our 8-month-old infant and this unit exceeded our expectations! It has a fantastic direct oceanfront view and the largest one-bedroom we’ve stayed in with plenty of room for the pack n play in the bedroom. Miranda was the best host, so quick to respond and accommodating. I would stay here on any trip to Maui in a heartbeat.

Really had a great time! The property is tucked back and away from the beaten path! It felt like its own little piece of the island. Communication was great during the questions about the area reopening after such a terrible loss due to fires. That being said, this property was physically unaffected. We will be back on our next trip to West Maui!!

Kuleana is halfway to Kahana near the center of the Honokowai district. Very quiet street and property, shopping, gas food nearby.

It is our second stay at the kuleana and I just can't imagine a better place. Every morning I woke before light to enjoy the quiet darkness on the deck. Palms waving in the breeze, moon and stars shining in the sky, waves splashing on the rocks. Slowly light emerged pinkening the sky and poofs of clouds. Then it was that the birds began their day chattering away in the big trees next to and behind our nest. Soon my husband would be out surveying the water asking for sunscreen so he could be the first to hit the waves out front on the paddle board. I would watch him a bit then head out on a walk in the neighborhood in wait for the sun to hit the water before I began my paddle out. Riding waves on the kayak was great fun as was paddling around on SUP. When the wind chopped the water we'd all pack down to the beach with boogie boards and snorkel masks. I wasn't interested in snorkeling here but my 12 yr old and many others were. Turtles galore - more turtles than people, I'd venture to say. When the sun's might threatened our Seattle winter skins, we'd head back to the room for lunch and a break. I was thrilled with the blender here which made lovely smoothies with frozen fruit, some ice, yogurt and the meat of coconut that we broke on the rocks by the water. Midday was a good time to things done like the dishes, or a run to the store or some prep for dinner. We were all so happy to find the flitered water bottle filler in the clubhouse as we would have bought dozens of jugs of water without it. Wish there was recycling at the kuleana. Afternoons we were at the beach again or finding a spot of shade by the pool. Walking around the resort was always a delight to me. The spongy clean centipede grass and always perfectly clean (except for frangrant plumeria blossoms dropped from the many trees) sidewalks bade me to leave my shoes in the room. We delighted in the parklike setting- never tiring of the many colors and varieties of flowers. fruits and trees growing along the paths. Evening was the best. The sun would near the horizon, the conk blew, the tiki torches lit and the palms and plumeria would become silouettes against an orange sky. If not on the lanai, there was always a spot to be alone on the grounds. Never felt crowded. Miranda was always quick to reply- awesome property manager. The place was nice, clean and stocked with spices, laundry soap, peroxide, plenty of towels and dishes for 4. Lots of storage so we could keep tidy

Instructions were easy, the condo was clean and provided a lot of cenveniences like beach chairs, beach towels, spices, Tupperware, a cooler, and blue ice. I had a question during our stay and Miranda got back to me very fast and was helpful. Other guests at the property were quiet and pleasant. We watched whales jumping out of the water from the kitchen, living room, and lanai. Standing on the lanai we watched turtles surface, and a small jetty and beach allowed you to get within feet of turtles! Plumeria trees, tropical birds, and a strong AC unit... we were very happy.

The property was very nice and the condo wiell equipped. The pool was large. The view from the deck was great - we saw whales daily. There were turtles on the beach below us but the waves were pretty large so could not see them that well.

The apartment was a perfect quiet getaway for our familys first visit to Maui! We loved the view, the turtles on the beach right at the complex and it was a great location, close to kaanapali and napili beaches. The furnishings and linens are a bit dated and but the location and use of washer and dryer were great. Love the Kuleana complex, bbq with an ocean view and neigbors were so friendly!

Very nice king bed! And good A/C in the bedroom. Nice view. Wish we could have also been able to see the pool area to watch family while in the pool. Tons of turtles! Ok snorkeling in front of condo. It was great having a washing machine and dryer in the unit. Suggest you have two sets of keys to pool area. Sometimes the spouse may not want to go at the same time as the other. That was a pain. Nice bathroom towels. We have stayed at Kuleana many times and love the complex.

Our stay was everything we had hoped it would be and then some. The view was amazing. The condo was clean and well equipped to meet our needs. The property manager was very accomodating for us. The best part was that it is a protected marine life area and we were able to swim with sea turtles every day just off the beach. Thanks for a wonderful time. We will be back.

Great size unit with big lanai for whale watching. Kitchen has everything you need, wine glasses to cookware. Washer/ dryer inside the condo.
Comfortable bed, plenty of towels, and a
view that takes your breath away. Quiet and peaceful. Miranda is great to work with.

We loved our stay in #105! It is a quiet community with a lot of privacy. The sound of the waves so close and the tropical birds in the morning were icing to the cake. The condo met our needs and was a comfortable home on our trip in Maui. The updates to the condo were done nicely and felt very clean. The waves all week were too big to play on the little beach in front of the condo but we drove to different beaches that our small children could play in. The pool at the condo was really nice and big. Most of the time we were the only ones in the pool. I would highly suggest staying here if you want to watch a gorgeous sunset and see the ocean all the time.

We have been vacationing at this condo complex annually for 12 years. We have stayed in several unit's and now own a timeshare here. 105 is definitely the nicest unit we have stayed in. It is secluded away from the street, absolutely no street noise. The view from the large lanai can't be beat. Most of the units here are a very standard size, but this one is much larger...plenty of storage for beach toys on the lanai or even on the entry deck. The kitchen and bathroom seem to have been remodeled recently, the unit is very well appointed. We can't wait to come back to this one.

My family of four had a wonderful week staying in this condo! It is an area that is not very high density so the two beaches are never very busy. Lots of turtles on the beach and in the water. We could watch our kids in the water from the balcony. Master bedroom air conditioner blows cold - keeps the bedroom very cold but the rest of the condo is cooled by opening the shutters and back door. Great Great Great location and a very clean condo - we will be back. Thanks so much!

We enjoyed our stay and the price was right. The condo is a bit stuffy for our liking. Not a lot of light and a little warm on hot days. The view is great and location good. Walking to good casual food options was nice. The beach is nice but small. Good value place.

The Kuleana Resort was amazing. My wife and I wanted to stay somewhere relatively quiet that wasn't in all the resort locations in west Maui so we rent #105 for a week and it was terrific. All the amenities we needed were in the condo, including blender, cooler bag, beach bag, beach chairs, beach towels, beach mats, etc. The unit itself is extremely spacious and after seeing into some of the other units you will realize how much larger it is. We were really surprised at how much smaller some of the units on the ground floor were. The balcony was also a highlight. It was amazing to sit out there and just watch the whales non-stop.

In addition to the whales there were a lot of turtles including two that were sunning themselves on the little beach. We went snorkeling a couple of times although getting into the water via the ladder of the rocks is a little dicey. However swimming with the turtles was incredible. Out of all the spots we snorkeled in Maui this was the best spot we found with turtles. We usually saw about 5 or 6 each time we went in and if you just watching the water from above you see turtle heads coming up for air every minute. It is really cool.

The property itself was great. There is a tennis court that we used once and never saw anyone else on it (the condo unit has two rackets and tennis balls to use). There is a ping pong table, large swimming pool, and Weber barbecues by the ocean to use. The property really is amazing.

Most of the people at this resort were a lot older than us but that didn't matter to us. It definitely is not for people that want to party but if you want a nice, relaxing place to stay each night while you explore the island during the day I can't recommend this place enough!

We had a wonderful time on Maui and thoroughly enjoyed this unit!!
The view is outstanding, the unit is perfectly equipped, the ground are beautiful and Miranda made our stay even more enjoyable. We'll see you again!

Aloha all. I would like to give my 2 cents worth on the Kuleana. . My wife and I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, and several other 5 star hotels throughout the western world and I am telling you that for the value, location, view, peacefulness, and cleanliness of the property, the Kuleana cannot be beat. Miranda DeSoto was our rental agent and she was AWESOME. As a seasoned traveler I have learned what to ask for and I am not the easiest person to please. Miranda was very patient, extremely helpful, and of all the requests I made, she met every one and more. Miranda gave me better service and attention than I have ever received From any 5 star hotel or reservationist. Thank you very much Miranda for your undivided attention to meeting my requests. So, onto the Kuleana review……..
1) If you are looking for a party environment and lots of people….go somewhere else
2) If you are looking for one of the most spectacular ocean front views for the money, then Kuleana is the place.
3) The grounds were beautiful and meticulously maintained.
4) We saw turtles frolicking from our deck every morning, afternoon, and evening
5) We saw a spectacular whale show from our deck one morning with the whales breaching all the way out of the water. This one 3 hr period we saw 18 separate whales surface and/ breach over 60 times. This is one of those mastercard/visa commercial experiences….. (PRICELESS). I have been to Alaska several times and have not seen a show this spectacular.
6) VIEW,VIEW,VIEW, I would recommend the extra outlay for direct oceanfront unit.
7) LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION….. We have stayed in West Maui 5 different times and the physical location of Kuleana is Great. Snorkeling, Swimming, Sunsets, Whalewatching ,direct ocean front entertainment. Only 1 mile from stores, restaraunts, equiptment rentals, or services you neeed.

On the property we enjoyed the heated pool, tennis, and playing shuffleboard everyday. The residents and vacationers on this property were friendly and always made us fee welcome. We cannot wait to go back to the great experience we had at Kuleana.
Overall Rating is 4.5 out of 5. (Why??? No personal barmaid was available)

September 23-October 5, 2012. We had a wonderful stay in #105. Gorgeous view, second floor, right up front. Post card perfect view. The pictures don't do justice to the gorgeous view. The unit was clean and very comfortable. Updated kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bed. T.V. In living room and bedroom. Air conditioner in bedroom was necessary since the windows don't open in room, so no cross breezes. Unfortunately the air conditioner is old and would occasionally make really loud noises which would wake us up. Smokers on both sides and above us, so often we had to endure stinky smoke while trying to enjoy the lanai. Oh well, not the end of the world. There were two small beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and several boogie boards available, as well as four beach towels. There was a certain sense of stinginess, in that we only got two rolls of T.P., two tiny bars of soap, and one load of laundry soap for a two week stay. Also only one dish cloth and towel. For the rate we paid, couldn't .50 go for tp? Very small issues compared to the wonderful experience overall. If you come to #105, just bring a bar of soap and a baggie of laundry soap. The pool was great, but almost no shade. The grounds were lovely, and the little beach out front was perfect. Hope to return.

How wonderful of a time we had swimming with the turtles right in front of the condo; literally. The grounds and pool are well kept. The vegetation is beautiful. We met "T" the grounds keeper. He was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It's a quiet complex, especially at night. Great place to have a cocktail and watch the sunset on the lanai. I just loved going to sleep with the sound of the waves. We will definitely be back.

Ths is a beautiful, well equiped condo with great views. The beach is actually closer than it appears in the pictures. Watch whales and sea turtles right from the lanai while enjoying your morning coffee. The grounds and pool area are well maintained and the parking very convenient. There are windows and airflow from three sides so we never used the air conditioner and the condo is set back enough from the road that noise is not a problem. Nicely furnished, kitchen is well equiped and plenty of linens. It was great to have the washer and dryer right in the unit. Just a short drive to shopping, snorkeling, restaurants and golf. We can't wait to return and will definitely recommend this unit to our friends and family.

We spent 2 weeks in Nov 2011 here and had a wonderful experience. The unit is as per the pics, vast ocean view from your Lanai so you always have sound of waves. Small beach out front is fine to spend a few hrs or have your tea in the am before heading to a big beach. LOT'S of turtles right out front - can even snorkle with them! Nice quiet location within driving distance to many beaches and attractions. Unit was very clean but not fully updated. The biggest issue was the bathtroom -needs updating esp. the toilet-was so weak and old, wasting lot's of water...Bed was a nice king-pretty comfortable mattress. There is a pool which looked clean but didn't even use when there-went to the beach! BBQ's were fine-little finnicky but still perfectly useable and a nice way to cook your meals. Grounds were very well maintained. Nice having an insuite laundry for longer stays. Overall very comfortable, clean and had everything you need. (except a tea kettle!) Would stay here again!

to shopping, grocery, restaurants. We would stay in this condo again when we come

my husband and I had lovely 3 three days in this paradise house in west Maui, where proves to be our best exprience in Hawii. the condo is very comfortable-- cozy living room with fantastic ocean view, quiet bedroom with comfortable bedding and linen. The kitchen is my favorite where I can cook the best food with the best sea view.And if lucky, you will see turtle and whale just from the lanai. how wonderful! the compound is quiet and private...we love it!
