Excellent location: right on the oceanfront with every window overlooking the water. A beautiful, long coastal trail starts right at the hotel doorstep.
The huge downside to this apartment is the desperate need for renovation. There is a musty smell, chipped corners, and a lingering odor in the toilet. In the bathroom, a significant amount of water leaks from the faucet whenever you use the shower. And, to top it off, there are artificial flowers in every room—nothing more than unhealthy dust collectors.

We were very happy with our stay at Mahana #414. We’ve always really liked the Mahana, where every unit is direct oceanfront. The unit was spacious, good layout, large balcony, clean, and well-appointed. It is as you see it in the pictures. The Mahana is a relaxed place with an easy-living vibe. The beach was nicer than we had remembered! The lounge chairs around the pool and oceanfront lawn are plentiful and well spaced, so you never feel crowded.

But really, a highlight was dealing with Miranda. There’s always that uncertainty with Airbnb, but not in this case - every interaction with Miranda was prompt, helpful and straightforward. I have no hesitation recommending this listing to anyone. Mahalo for a great stay!

Mahana Condos are the best!
I’ve stayed in a bunch of them going back 25 years! Sea Turtles Whales Ocean Waves!

Miranda's condo is a dream! The view of the ocean is breath-taking, and ocean access could not be easier. The reef makes for amazing snorkling (gear stocked in the condo closet!), daily whales and turtle sightings (binoculars in the desk), and sunsets are the best I've seen. Please note that the bedroom is on the oceanside, making this an incredibly quiet night's sleep, and if you leave open the patio door you can let the sounds of the waves lull you to sleep. Miranda herself was incredibly responsive, we stayed for over a month and she never once failed to respond to our occasional question or need. The building itself is low-density which further adds to the quiet, peaceful vibe. Parking was easy, and the location is perfect for a quick walk to the market, package mailing center, and don't miss Fish Market Maui and the Farmers Market Maui, up the street to the north a bit. Great local places for lunch and/or groceries. I can't recommend Miranda's spot enough! Aces, all around.

Miranda was a great host and her place is beyond what pictures or words can do justice in describing. The location is ideal and the resort is amazing with the views from her balcony, front room and bedroom are out of this world. We will be back.

This place was everything we wished for. Right in the beach and we slept with the door open nightly to listen to the crashing waves. In a great area close to everything. The grounds here and pool etc. are kept meticulously clean. Have not 1 complaint. We will be back!!

We always love staying at the Mahana and this unit was everything we wanted. Clean and comfortable with a kitchen filled with everything you need. You can't beat the views from the unit whether you are inside or outside. We highly recommend and will stay here again.

Loved the view and the place was so nice

Literally 50 feet from the ocean and were able to watch whales everyday off of the lanai. Wonderful floor to ceiling windows and comfortable wrap around couch. Quiet neighborhood. Pool could be larger if looking to swim but suited our purposes. Miranda was accessible and responsive. Had a refrigeration fan motor that acted up and was replaced the next day.

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our five-night stay at the Mahana Resort. Amazing snorkeling right in front of the complex, lots of whale watching from the condo unit and a kitchen stocked with all the basics we needed to enjoy meals 'at home'. There is construction currently going on at the resort, but it had very little impact on our stay. The pullout has a very basic mattress, but we did alright - the views and listening to the waves were fair compensation. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

This condo in this location was perfect for what I needed. The suite is very well maintained, super clean, and quiet. The pool and hot tub were clean and never felt busy (most of the time there were either 2-6 people total around the pool. The sunsets were so amazing from the balcony and right on the beach. There's a bit of construction/renovating happening and being a 40 y/o building it's good to see the upkeep. The construction never affected my stay. Location is perfect, no traffic in front yet it's only like 2 blocks from a grocery store, pubs, scooter rental. Everything you need. The area is unbelievably beautiful. Beach after beach after beach after beach, all size and level of surfing waves and the people are all friendly. The front desk/check in was seamless and throughout the week were available to help with any questions. i will definitely stay here again and Miranda was so easy to book with and communicate with during the planning. Thanks.

The view is breathtaking! Opening the door set the stage for what was the best vacation ever. It was a tropical paradise. Having meals while seeing and listening to the waves, pure serenity! Waking up to water, clouds and waves was more than I could have imagined.

We stayed in 414 a beautiful condo with all the amenities including anything for the beach. Very comfortable furniture & king size bed. Amazing floor to ceiling glass & lanai for watching the whales & dolphins with span of never ending water. Beach in front great for swimming & walking. Great heated pool & jacuzzi. It was hard to leave and hope to be back soon

I cannot say enough good things about this property and its property manager Miranda! Miranda helped us with clarifying the COVID travel requirements prior to our trip, assisted us with random calls and questions during our trip, and provided superior customer service! The property itself was breathtaking! The unit had all the beach essentials and a ton of small, much appreciated details. The view from the unit gave us the most spectacular sunsets and ocean views, it is hard to find the words to best represent the experience! We will certainly be returning to this unit again in the future!!!

Wow! This condo had sweeping views of the ocean and easy access to the beaches. We loved the booklet in the condo outlining fun activities & beaches. It was equipped with everything we needed as well.

Amazing views! Just have to walk a bit if you want to go on beach as it is rocky out front. Quiet condo compared to the hotels nearby. Right at the start of the boardwalk. Kitchen well-equipped and bed was firm which we like.

The property has fantastic views. We saw whales and lots of green turtles from the living room window. Its in a great location with food trucks in walking distance which was very nice for a couple of easy dinners after a day in the sun.

This large unit is exactly like the pictures: King bed, kitchen, lanai, etc. And it's BETTER than the photos due to the awesome location. Specifically, it's at the start of the boardwalk on the north end and the boardwalk takes you south to Black Rock, maybe further. We hopped on the bus to go to Whalers Village and Lahaina ($2 each way and no hassle with parking) and north to Napili and the coastal trail. There are food carts, grocery and off beach restaurants a 10 min walk. The condo building was quiet, well maintained with beautiful grounds, pool, jacuzzi. We were pleasantly surprised by the pool towel service, BBQs, lending library. The beach below is little used due to the coral but a few yards south you can enter the ocean for snorkeling so the beach is super quiet - mostly walkers. No on-site lounge or bar contributed to our peaceful enjoyment of #414 during our ten night stay.

Amazing views!!! We woke up to humpback whales breaching and a rainbow on our first morning! During our time, we spotted a monk seal, turtles and more whales! The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. Convenient location that we would book again in a heart beat. Love, love, love this spot! Bring binoculars!!!

The views are stunning from your floor to ceiling windows. We saw whales a bunch of times. The beach is beautiful and never crowded. And the boardwalk is such a nice feature... you can walk to several restaurants and bars. I would absolutely recommend this place to any and everyone! It's worth every single penny. I will miss staying here and will miss Maui... best vacation ever!

Love this unit, just a few steps from the elevator. We're a family of 4 and spent Christmas vacation for 1 week here and were delighted how clean, cozy and roomy it was. The view was amazing, saw a whale spray over the horizon and a turtle in the crashing waves. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. The amenities not brand new but perfectly fine. The TVs were oddly hard to operate, so our kids used their smart phones for entertainment. There were plenty of other guests at the complex but noise was never an issue. We didn't use the BBQ or the pool but other people did. Several delicious food trucks were just a block away. Black Rock beach is within walking distance, other beaches a short drive further, and so is Old Lahaina. Lots of shops and quick eats nearby, plus a market with local farm products for cooking at home. We would return again and highly recommend this unit.

We had a snafu with a different reservation and had to find last minute accommodations for the week of Thanksgiving.
Here are my thoughts on this condo.
Miranda- very nice and responsive.
Location is amazing. Those floor to ceiling windows- all you see is ocean. Spectacular.
Area is perfect. Lots of free parking. Kaanapali Beach is steps away and you can walk for 1 1/2 miles. Lots of snorkeling and paddelboarding along the way. Restaurants too. Everyone is mellow, enjoying the sun. If you don’t want to walk on the beach you can hop up on the boardwalk
Amenities. Condo was equipped with everything you need including beach towels, lawn chairs and some snorkeling equipment, There was a nice gift basket waiting for us when we arrived. It was very clean. The wireless is not a secured network.
Misc. The main issue I had with this condo is that it’s decor is just a little blah. The sheets and towels were a bit worn. The furniture on the Lanai very basic. It could be spruced up a little. On the other hand the price was very reasonable.
My husband loved it. It is really quiet and the sunsets can't be beat.

With wall to ceiling views of the ocean and a big lanai, this place couldn’t be better placed. Updated kitchen and bathroom. Spacious living and dining rooms. Comfy bed. Lots of chaises by the pool and facing the ocean. Not crowded (we travelled in late September.) Walking distance to a few big resorts with their amenities, snorkel bob’s, grocery store, food trucks, and Slappy Cakes where they serve the most delicious Hawaiian pancakes...this was a perfect spot for our week of doing absolutely nothing on Maui!

Also appreciated a code on the door so no key to remember or worry about on the beach.

The beach directly in front of the building is pretty eroded, but one minute walk to a suitable beach and 5-10 minute walk to great beach and good snorkeling!

Really nice quite place to stay. Simple and clean resort. Easy parking for guests. Across from supermarket to get food supplies for long stays.
Beautiful views from balcony and or just strolling the coast line.

We truly enjoyed our stay here during Christmas 2017. The view from the property is breathtaking. Very clean and neat property. We appreciated the tasteful minimal decorations: The style is Hawaiian but subtle. Not the newest appliances or furniture, but not the oldest either. Very reasonable and all very clean! Perfectly doable for our family of 3. Our teenage son slept on the pullout bed with no problems. Bedroom bed was fine: Not too hard or soft for us. Location was excellent: right at end of Ka’anapali beach boardwalk and a very short drive to several excellent beaches in West Maui. No real beach at this property for tanning or swimming. But who cares? There are world class beaches a few minutes walk or drive away! And the quiet of the place cannot be overstated. We almost never heard anyone else here. So relaxing!! Finally, parking was very easy and free. And the whole lot is shaded by huge trees so your car interior isn’t as hot as a toaster oven when you’re ready to drive somewhere. Thank you, Miranda!

Miranda is great to deal with
Most everything is really good at this room .There’s really nothing to bitch in a way that you wouldn’t come back. First off I have to say the bbqs are so amazingly clean every day , I’ve never cooked on a cleaner one, unless it was new. However there are a few lil things that could be better. . (The dryer )if you wash a load of towels you have to pretty much go The the room every hour to restart the dryer cuz it takes all day to dry a load. .the fridge is the wrong style fridge for the room . A double door fridge can’t be right against the wall or the doors don’t open therefor crisper drawers don’t open. . Only one elevator worked for 90% of our stay. The shower at the beach to was sant off is brutal. Better off having a garden hose there.

This condo was exactly what we wanted for our Hawaii Vacation. The pictures of the view do not do it justice. It was amazing to wake up every morning to the views of the beautiful blue ocean right outside your bedroom. We spent 7 nights here in October and couldn't have been happier with the whole process. Miranda was extremely helpful during our booking and everything was ready upon our arrival and she even let us have a late check out since our flight wasn't departing until the evening. The door has a code instead of a key which was so nice to not have to keep up with a key while we were at the beach or exploring the island. The furniture was in great condition and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals in the condo. The grills downstairs were also perfect for grilling fish or steaks for dinner. They were cleaned so well each day that they seriously looked like no one had ever cooked on them! I was a little worried when I sat on the bed that it was a little firmer than what I was used to, but it was actually really comfortable and we both slept like babies the whole trip. I didn't see many other buildings that had full floor to ceiling windows in the living and bedroom. We watched sea turtles swimming below in the mornings while we had our coffee on the patio and the sunsets in the evenings cannot be beat. This was definitely a quieter condo which was perfect for us, but if you wanted to walk to a bar Dukes was a 2 minute walk and there were several good restaurants within walking distance too. The pool is beautiful and well maintained and the hot tub was great as it got cooler in the evenings or after a long day of hiking. The beach in front of the building is perfect for walking and has lovely soft sand. There is a reef directly in front of the building so not great for swimming right there, but a short walk to the left or right along the beach will get you to a good swimming spot. If you're looking for a quieter, relaxing condo for your stay this is definitely the one to choose. We went to several other very crowded beaches during the day and it was always so nice to return to our little oasis at the Mahana. I would have no hesitations recommending this condo to anyone visiting Maui.

It was so conveniently located that we were able to walk to the grocery store, as well as along a beautiful path overlooking the ocean, that goes for miles. The best part about this condo is the proximity to the ocean. With ocean views and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach from both the living room and the bedroom, we were in heaven! It was also a special treat to watch sea turtles in the water as well.

We really loved staying here in this condo for a week. Place and views are just like the pictures. Floor to ceiling glass with breathtaking ocean views from anywhere in the condo was just awesome. Beach is just steps away. The community amenities are also excellent. Would highly recommend this over the hotels. Looking forward to one more trip to this place. Minor improvements: the lanai furniture had some dust and was not cleaned properly. could benefit from a new toaster.

Every time we entered Mahana #414 and saw that floor-to-celling / wall-to wall window we said "Wow what an incredible view". Looking to the left you see the island of Lanai and looking to the right you see the island of Molokai... and the sun sets in between these two islands. We were there seven nights and we watched seven amazing sunsets.

We used the kitchen and BBQs often. We took daily walks on the boardwalk going towards Black-Rock. Duke's restaurant, next door, is very convenient and has a great menu. The bedroom was very comfortable, the living room is nicely decorated and hypnotizing looking out that window. Morning coffee watching the islands wake up has defined a new "Happy Place" for me.

One of the most important things I look for is the view. We traveled with our 16 month old and knew we would be spending more time than usual in the condo so we wanted to make sure we had a great place. You are so close to the water, it is amazing. We ended up having 2-3 days of really terrible weather so we were also glad to have an enjoyable place to stay for those days.

As for the condo itself, I have no complaints. The furniture is a bit worn but typical of a beach rental. Some of the doors (laundry and bedroom closet) were missing handles or difficult to open. Minor issues and easy fixes. The grounds of the Mahana are beautiful and the location is perfect.

Our first time in Maui we stayed in Kahana and we liked this location better. Just a bit more central and quicker to Lahaina. The grocery is convenient to walk to. Java Jazz has great coffee and a very reasonable breakfast.

For anyone traveling with a toddler, this unit was pretty much baby proof from the get go. The lanai is very safe and we were comfortable with our little one wandering the unit as he pleased.

This was a phenomenal home away from home for our stay on Maui. The view is just unbelievable! All you see when you look out the floor to ceiling windows is palm trees, ocean, a couple of surfers, and rainbows! Condo itself is better than expected. Tastefully decorated in what I consider classic Hawaiian style with modern amenities like a full kitchen including any cookware and utensils you might need and a dishwasher. The in-unit washer and dryer were also amazing to have. We had breakfast on our own private lanai (balcony) in the mornings, and hung out the beach routinely. This is a beautiful, quiet part of the island, with full local amenities including restaurants and grocery stores, etc. It was incredible sleeping with open windows and being lulled by the ocean every night. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to come back! Mahalo!

This condo is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. You get what the pictures show, if not more. The beach is smaller because of erosion, but a very very short walk opens up to a bigger sand area. The palm trees made the perfect border for some beautiful sunset pictures. The grills by the pool are great for cooking. Someone is always at the front desk for questions. A consierg is there during the day to help with tours. Most of the parking is shaded. Grounds and the unit itself is immaculate. I usually leave where we stay cleaner than when we arrive. It will be tough to do in this unit. See what is in the unit before you go to the store. There are all types of soap and paper products and some spices to get you started or in our case to get us through the week. A short walk (night or day) takes you to Dukes. They receive fresh caught local fish twice a day for ocean side casual dining. The bike trip down the volcano is a must. Miranda, the property manager is great and replies by email or phone quickly.

This was a great vacation. The condo was actually better than described and the photos can't do the superior location and views justice. With floor to ceiling windows, we almost felt like we were on a boat! We saw dolphins swim by one day and had magnificent sunset views every night. The kitchen is beautiful with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. It is fully stocked with everything you need (except food, of course). The bed was very comfortable. It was very quiet--we never heard anything except the sound of the waves. Everything was perfect! The manager (Miranda) was very nice and helpful too. She quickly responded when we had a question and was extremely efficient and pleasant. Booking was easy and getting checked in was even easier. We would definitely book this condo again next time we visit Maui. It is the best possible location on Maui, in our opinion, and as close to the ocean as you can get.

My husband and I just returned from Maui. This condo is perfect...everything you need is here and the view is spectacular, I would not hesitate to rent this again and highly recommend it. You can hear the ocean coming right up under your lanai, the crashing of the waves first thing in the morning and the last sound at night. Conveniently located, we rented a car and traveled 10 minutes up the road to Whalers Village and went to the beach there...just gorgeous. The beach is spectacular, one day we drove in the opposite direction to Napali, had breakfast at the Sea House and spent the day at this beach. Kapalua golf course is right up the road. Breath taking. Miranda the manager of the condo promptly answered any questions we had from the time of booking until the time we left. We never had to wait for her to get back to us. Booking this on line was easy and I always had a question for her and no matter how many times I e mailed her she was always attentive in answering. Without a doubt rent this condo you will not be disappointed. When we return this will again be our home away from home. Mahola.

This is our second visit to this resort, and The Mahana is one of the under-appreciated gems on Maui. The location can't be beat! You're very near groceries and restaurants, just a few minutes from Whaler's Village and Lahaina for more restaurants and shopping, and smack-dab on the water. Every morning we went for a walk on the beach towards the south, you can walk for a longggg time with your feet in the water, and the beach is pretty nice just a short distance to the south. The view from the unit is absolutely wonderful, with the floor to ceiling window....it's hypnotic just to stare and listen to the ocean. The fourth floor is the perfect height to still listen to the waves, but not feel like people are looking in your windows. The unit itself is nice enough, with a pretty nice living room and kitchen/appliances. The bedroom is a little more plain. It could probably use a coat of paint and some new bed linens. Otherwise the condo was very comfortable, with everything we could have needed, including beach chairs and a cooler, which was nice! The management was very accommodating, even letting us know that my wife left some clothes in a drawer (doh!) and going to the trouble of sending them back to us. I think our only complaint was the shower, with low water pressure (which might be out of the control of the unit management/owner) and the low shower head (my wife and I are both tall, and the shower head is at height better suited for Danny DeVito, which for some reason is all too common in most hotels/lodging around the country). Otherwise, it was an amazing trip and a wonderful stay! I'll definitely consider staying in this unit again in the future (especially if the shower head is raised!!).

My wife and I were thrilled to find the views from the room were exactly those shown in the photos-- that is to say they were perfectly stunning. Like sunsets? Grab a drink and sit on the lanai, or walk down to the beach.
The kitchen may not be stocked, but it has all the tools you need to cook a fantastic meal. Or you could just go out for food to Lahaina or Whalers' Village. Up to you.
When we go back to Maui I'm definitely pushing to stay here again.

Just got back from staying here. The condo had everything that you would need. Very quiet. We relaxed and had breakfast every day on the lanai. I would recommend this condo. It was just perfect.

We rate Mahana 414 5 stars on the view and its spaciousness! The floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows in both the living room and the bedroom are fantastic! The condo itself was clean and nice and having the laundry in the unit was very convenient. It is not luxuriously appointed, but quite satisfactory. Even though you don't need AC, it was very nice to have it at times and we appreciated that about this unit. The Mahana is very nice and just steps from the beach. The free wireless internet works better in the lobby than it does in the condo. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked and the outdoor grills were great! You can literally walk across the street or drive a couple of blocks to the Fish Market for fresh fish and marinade to grill. The location of the Mahana is just great--convenient to lots.

My boyfriend and I stayed here over the Memorial Day holiday and we were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The view was perfect, lanai was wonderful for breakfast, and it was really convenient having a washer and dryer in our unit. This unit is clean, updated and has pretty much anything you could need. I would definitely recommend staying at this unit if you're looking for ocean view without the high resort price. It's far enough away (2 mi) from the busier resort area near Whaler's Village, but close enough to get in on the action. Beaches are great about a 1/2 mile in either direction.

We stayed in #414 for our Honeymoon in Feb 2010. The place was perfect! It was clean and remodeled. all the amenities were all there and worked. Very quiet place. We went to sleep to the sound of the ocean every night. Whales were 150 yards off the beach and we whale watched from the lanai. We highly recommend #414!

We had a wonderful stay here. The owner and management are most helpful. Everyone was very friendly. This ocean view is the most spectacular of any we've stayed stateside or Caribbean. It is breath taking. You are practically ON the ocean. We relaxed looking out over the ocean and also seeing the other islands in the background. Sunsets are splendid. This location is very close to other attractions. We highly recommend.
