Good location and enough space for our family which included 5 adults and 2 young children.
Waking up and seeing the ocean was fantastic. Resort was spotless and people working there were all polite and helpful. It definitely accommodated our needs and everyone enjoyed our time there.
We had a total of 7 stay at this condo and I was initially worried that it would be too cramped, but it worked out. It was our little family get together and members flew in from CA, MO and NY. It was the perfect location and there’s was plenty of amenities nearby. Miranda, the host, was helpful and communicative. She called in advance to let us know the master bath wasn’t working so that at least set our expectations. It was unfortunate but at least there was 2 other bathrooms. Would book again.
Date of arrival - December 18, 2022
We absolutely loved our experience in Papakea E403, awesome view, good breeze throughout the day, fully stocked with all essentials.
Dealing with Miranda made it very simple and seamless she was on top of it. My son had left something in the room and she made sure we got it.
I would absolutely 100% recommend!
We enjoyed our stay , we were very happy with the unit and services in side and out side the unit
This condo was very well maintained, excellent view and the owner was very accommodating. Everything we needed was provide for us. It comfortably provided space for 6 adults and two children with a pull out bed still available. The resort was beautiful, and the condo was stocked with everything we needed for a week long stay. The ONLY thing about this condo is the air condition was great in the main part of the condos, but the sleeping areas were a bit warm. We made due by opening windows, turning on the ceilings fans. Overall excellent stay, and thank you for the late check out and hairchair and pac n play that you provided for us. We will definitely be staying with you again!
Very nice facilities, the condo can use some improvements but overall excellent place for my party to stay while in Maui.
Very easy check in. Everything was perfect it was a great experience for my family. Our first vacation. Thank you so much.
We enjoyed our stay and the condo was just as advertised. The space was quite comfortable and had all of the conveniences we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
Let me start by saying that the property is beautiful and well maintained. There is no beach access as stated by earlier reviews but that’s not a big deal. You can just drive down to Whalers village each day.
The condo was older but well equipped, beach chairs, everything you need in the kitchen for your stay. Our big complaint and it’s a big one is really no air conditioning. There is a wall unit in the living room that you turn on with a timer, that was broken. They did replace the timer while we were there but now you can only run the air for 60 mins at a time. No air in the bedrooms just ceiling fans and box fans. But when you are sunburned at the end of a long day and trying to sleep you are not comfortable. It’s December in Hawaii but really never gets below 70.
This was my second time staying at this resort I like the location as for this condo it severed us 5 adults well, the only two things that was missing was an ironing board and no air conditioning in the back bedrooms, other than that it was perfect for us,clean and well stocked, hopefully when I return in 2 years it's been updated with at least air conditioning for the back rooms! Thanks for allowing us a late check out ,will use that condo again!
My wife and I with two sons, a daughter and a daughter-in-law really enjoyed the stay in this resort condo. The rooms were clean and kitchen were filled with almost everything we need for cooking. Plenty of beach towers truly helped. The view at the balcony is just amazing. It is near downtown Kaapa so there are much options for restaurants. Great place and truly enjoyed the stay.
Arrived after midnight and was greeted by a cheerful security guard who let us into our place.
Suite is on the 4th floor with a nice view. It was very comfortable and clean for our family. We had two couples, each with an infant in the main rooms, and two more adults upstairs in the loft. The great layout of this cozy suite allowed for enough space for everyone.
The beach and pools were very accessible. Baby beach was only 5 min walk away and great snorkeling only 10 min drive. Groceries etc are also a short walk away.
Overall quiet resort and very well taken care of. Nice for a family. Kitchen had all the basics and BBQ by the pool was great.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was that the AC didn’t reach the back rooms despite setting up a series of fans. Normally not an issue, but with two infants needing mid-day naps it made it quite challenging. Otherwise, it was cool enough at night.
Management were great and very responsive. They even arranged a place for us to stay for the day after checking out, since our our flight didn’t leave until 10pm.
Our choice of this condo for our family’s first visit to Maui was based on the location, pictures of this unit, and previous reviews of this 3 bedroom 3 bathroom condo. We enjoyed our experience from working with Miranda for booking and arrival, to the resort’s front desk and THE CONDO view and location. Our family of 6 had enough space & privacy when inside. The beds were very comfortable and the baths gave us all privacy. This condo is fully equipped for cooking and eating as well as all the items for the beach, pool, and putting greens! The views are amazing! The lanai was our spot in the morning for coffee and in the evening for dinner and sunsets! The location was central for our needs to visit all the island. The grounds at Papakea are well maintained and their tropical beauty shows it! We look forward to our returning someday!
The unit was perfect for our family of 6 adults (3 couples) and a 2-year-old.
It was well-stocked with what we needed, and we also appreciated the kids' beach toys, snorkel and mask, fins, and boogie boards that we hadn't expected.
We originally booked this unit for 6 people however one couple decided to stay elsewhere. This turned out to be a good thing in our opinion as this place although a good size, works better for 4 people. The two front bedrooms are good and spacious however the loft offers two single beds which probably wouldn't have worked for our 3rd couple. The view from the deck is exactly the view in the advertised picture. Hot tub was used a lot by us and they have a large putting green next to the pool. Overall we thought the place worked out well for us.
Everything you could ever need. Clean, perfect location, nice size.
Papakea resort is great. It is well maintained and in a great location. We love that it isn’t overly crowded like a lot of resorts in the area.
First, I want to say that communicating with Miranda was terrific. We had questions about late check-out and she was more than accommodating to our family. We had a very late flight on Christmas Day, and she allowed us a late check-out. We were so thankful - we could enjoy one last day at the beach which was great since our first few days in Maui were a wash-out. A big Mahalo to Miranda and her assistant who checked in with us, too.
The property is great. When viewing the photo with the listing on VRBO, I was not sure if that was a generic view or the actual view from the Lanai - it is indeed the actual view. Just lovely.
We had 6 adults (four grown children) and there was plenty of space. There is an upstairs loft with a small bathroom and two twin beds. The master bedroom with en-suite is quite large. The second bedroom is large as well. (3 bathrooms.) The kitchen is clean and has what you might need to prepare food. Be sure to pick up things like coffee and alcohol before you get there. They have both a Keurig and drip coffee-makers. (Costco by the airport or the Times grocery store is right across the street from the condo.)
Unfortunately, it poured like crazy the first few days we were there. We looked for games at the main office, but there weren't any. We finally went into the hot tub on those rainy days.
The pools are nice, basic. We walked next door to Kaanapali Beach Club (the pink hotel). The kids loved their hot tub and pool. We ordered drinks - they have a great happy hour - and enjoyed them by the pool. (Surprisingly inexpensive!)
The beach is about a 7-10 minute walk away. Because of the storms, the surf was quite rough (unswimmable) until our very last day when it was beautiful - but they are really nice beaches. I recommend you walk past Duke's restaurant a bit to find a place to sit on the beach. You can also drive over to the parking lot as well if you have little ones - it might be too far to walk if you carry all your gear for a beach day.
The location of this condo is great - walking distance to Dukes, The Fish Market (great place for lunch), shave ice, grocery store, farmer's market, ABC Store, etc. Very short drive to Kaanapali/Whaler's Village and Lahaina to walk around or enjoy restaurants. We enjoyed the Old Lahaina Luau, Kimo's, Frieda's (Baha Fish Tacos!), Duke's, MonkeyPod Kitchen (great MaiTai!), Java Jazz for coffee...
Everyone thought our condo was perfect for us! You can't go wrong with this property!
Gorgeous view of the beautiful, well maintained Papakea Resort grounds, pool and ocean from E403 lanai -- exactly like the photos! Although there is very little beach, it has a nice grassy area to the seawall and is just a short walk (south) to the Ka’anapali beaches. (There is also a very nice beach walk along the resorts.) Our unit was on the quieter Molokai pool side of the resort (non-heated pool but large Jacuzzi; the Lanai pool is heated). Each side has a cabana, BBQs, pool, Jacuzzi, shuffle board and putting greens.
The 3 bedroom/3 bathroom condo was perfect for the six of us. The unit was very clean and fully equipped with all of the necessary kitchen supplies (including cooking and BBQ utensils; spices, foil, plastic wrap, baggies; napkins, paper towels), washer/dryer, dishwasher/laundry and hand soap/pods; kitchen towels; bath towels, shampoo/conditioner, bath soap; beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, putters, and beach toys/boards. TV in every room (4). Downstairs beds were very comfortable. The upstairs loft bedroom has 2 twin beds that makes into a king and is open to downstairs living room (it did get a little warm but not too bad). We had a few little things that needed repaired (closet door off track, two shower heads dripping, etc.); I emailed Miranda and maintenance came the next day.
The seven days we spent at the Papakea Resort went way too fast but was one of the most relaxing vacations we ever had…hoping to make this an annual visit!
Misc resort info…a Mai Tai party on Thursdays; offered free swimmercize, yoga-lates, tai chi, tennis, pickle ball and putting tournament. No construction during our stay. Misc info…we rented a van near the Kahului airport. Our first stop was Costco for food, drinks and gas (about $0.75 per gallon less than near the resort.) Times Market was within walking distance for remaining grocery items (look for dairy products on sale). There's a farmer’s market Wednesdays 8 a.m. to noon where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables. 2nd Friday of the month town party at Lahaina. We went for a ride north as far as MP 41 – some nice beaches and a blow hole; we all loved playing in the waves at DT Fleming Beach. It rained one morning so we drove to drier Kihei and Makena Beach. Miranda at Paradise Living Properties was very helpful. Overall...two thumbs up to the Papakea Resort!
When I think of bringing my family or friends to Maui, this is just the perfect place! Extremely well stocked and maintained, fabulous view of the ocean and a lovely property! Can't wait to come back!!
My family and I had a wonderful stay in E403. The unit was clean and well stocked with all the supplies needed to kick off our vacation. Property management for our unit were friendly and attentive (thank you Paradise Living Properties!!) The view from the lanai was absolutely beautiful! The location of the resort was perfect! There’s a supermarket and shops within walking distance. Resort staff were always around making sure the grounds were well kept. My favorite part was laying on the lawn chair near the ocean wall listening to the waves and watching the sunset. I didn’t want to leave Maui!! I’ll definitely recommend this place to all my friends and I’ll also plan a trip back soon! Mahalo!
Clean property, the condo was good size for our family and had all the amenities we needed. Great view from the patio and enjoyed having dinners out there. Just a few issues with drawers in the kitchen and the refrigerator doors don't seem to close fully at times so items would melt in the freezer. Also AC unit on the timer was difficult at times, especially when returning from a day out and the condo was very hot. We did really enjoy our stay and it was nice having all the chairs and umbrella already there to use for a beach day.
The condo exceeded our expectations with the exception of the A/C unit. When the description said it came with A/C, I had no idea it was one wall unit on a timer.
When I booked the room back in April, no one was complaining about the A/C in the reviews because it wasn't hot enough to cause issues. When I revisited the website two weeks prior to our departure, I saw the complaints in other people's reviews and had a feeling it wasn't going to be good. As stated on the website, the condo does have an Air Conditioner. It's a wall unit above the door to the deck. It's insufficient to cool the condo and to add insult to injury, it's on a timer. After the first night of misery, we took turns getting up every few hours to "reset" the timer. Even when resetting the timer, the unit seemed to have a mind of its own. Sometimes the A/C would go on, and other times it wouldn't.
We were gone during the days but wanted to come back to the condo and relax at night. This was a real challenge because the heat would build up over the course of the day and made hanging out at the condo in the evenings pretty miserable.
What's slightly unfortunate about our experience is that if we weren't dealing with the heat issue, I would have given the condo 5 stars. It was clean and there was plenty of room. The property was quiet and not too crowded. In addition, we had wonderful views. I would recommend this place if you were going to Maui in the winter months. However, going the first of August with basically no A/C was tough.
Great family unit. Came with extras such as beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, towels and a cooler. Kitchen fully equipped. Condo had washing machine and dryer too. That was real handy. Size of unit easily accommodated our group of 8. Great views of ocean and pool. A/C unit did not cool much. Very warm and humid in the summer with just fans to cool back rooms.
.
The condo is very nice and clean, the only thing is we were surprised that there was no central air conditioning. (There is a unit on a timer in the main living area, ) but the loft area probably was warm at night, as it had no open windows up there. Location of condo was great, and other than the air conditioning not being as expected it was perfect.
Stayed at this spacious 3-bdroom, 3-bath condo with a view for four nights & 5 adults in mid-May, 2017. The grounds of Papakea Resort are beautifully well-kept that included BBQ’s, shuffleboard, putting greens, 2 pools, Jacuzzi’s and an outside eating area. The resort‘s surroundings are landscaped/grass with a seawall but easy walking access (bridge) to a sandy beach next door. Relaxing every night on the lounge chairs and watching the sunsets were amazing!! Condo was very clean and fully equipped for your stay, i.e., beach chairs, towels, beach toys, washer/dryer. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary amenities to BBQ and cook. Rooms were immaculate with all the necessary toiletries needed; plenty of towels in bathrooms, beds very comfortable, TV’s in every room. The upstairs loft bedroom, although open to downstairs living room, noise was never a problem; very private. The other two bedrooms were down stairs.
Property manager, Miranda, was great!! She was always there for my phone calls and accommodated me with additional information/recommendations. I recommend this property highly and will be back! Our stay was great and wish I was back there now!!
Spacious and comfortable with great view. Beds were very comfortable.
Beach chairs, umbrellas etc available was an unexpected bonus.
Carpet was stained which detracted from the overall look of the apartment, but it was very clean and tidy otherwise. I would stay again and recommend to others.
My family and I stayed for a week. The condo was clean, comfortable and well stocked with kitchen supplies, towels for the pool and entertainment. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and a grocery store within walking distance which was fantastic. Working with the property manager Miranda was such a positive experience. Looking forward to returning in the future.
Three couples, 7 nights. The condo isn't huge but it was certainly adequate for our needs. It was clean and well equipped. Very nice kitchen appliances. The property manager, Miranda DeSoto, was a pleasure to deal with. She was very professional and actually answers her phone when you call!
The resort is awesome. It is very well kept, clean, quiet and the staff is so friendly. We really can't recommend this highly enough.
Great condo for a family. The views are amazing and the amenities are extremely family friendly.
The facilities were very good and well maintained and managed. The management was profesional and prompt in responding to our requests and questions.
Beautiful location, great views. Extremely friendly staff. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Was totally surprised at the cleanliness of the bar B Que’s. Every morning dirty grills were replaced with clean and entire units were washed down. Condo was very comfortable, will definitely stay there again. What few issues we had were taken care of immediately.
Loved the condo! Five of us stayed here & it was very comfortable. Each bedroom having its own bathroom was especially nice. The resort was very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location was good too. Right by stores and restaurants. We actually rode bike to Lahaina and back! Miranda the property manager was so helpful and generous. We would most definitely recommend Miranda and this condo!
You have a beautiful condo in a great location with Great ocean views. Hearing the ocean is relaxing. This is our 4th trip to Maui and we love your condo. We did the drive up to Haleakala for the first time. We went during the day and it was still spectacular to see. I am not too sure if we would want to drive that road at night. Yes, definitely an outstanding condo with everything that a person would need. Thanks for letting us enjoy the condo, Mahalo and until next time, Aloha
Seven of us stayed here for a week in January and it was absolutely perfect. Whatever construction that was previously going on has clearly finished up. The condo has decent upgrades throughout, furniture is comfortable and in great condition, and the view off the lanai is breathtaking. The kitchen was well stocked with nice appliances and everything needed to cook at home. There were also five beach chairs, two umbrellas, and sand toys for a day trip to the beach. There was even a pack n play for our little one. The grounds are beautifully maintained with mature trees and plants that you just won't find at a newer resort. Only one pool is heated, which happened to be the one further away, but both spas work just fine. Shuffleboard was a nice bonus too. The BBQ's in the pool area were quite popular and great to have on those warm evenings. The staff did a great job keeping them clean too. The only issue we ran into wasn't related to the condo at all, but the complex and that was a broken elevator for 2.5 days. We had to use one down the way which was fine for six of us, but the seventh was handicap making for limited trips up and down. We would without a doubt definitely stay here again if we came as a large group.
The condo is beautiful and has been updated. The photos are accurate. The property was clean and is well maintained. The view was gorgeous and it was easy to get to the beach.
The only negative was the construction. Each day we were greeted with the sounds of jackhammers tearing away at the patios in the buildings across from ours. Had we been told in advance about the construction, we would have stayed somewhere else. Before you book this condo, I recommend you confirm with the property management company that construction has stopped. We were given a small refund, but it didn't make up for the inconvenience of not being able to sit on the porch and enjoy the view during the day.
I would recommend this property, but again, call ahead to make sure they will not be doing construction during your stay.
This was a great condo and resort! Thought I'd give a good description as these are all the things I'd like to know...
The condo was comfortable with all the amenities and nice and clean with a renovated kitchen. Great view of the water and pool area. No sun on the deck (we were there in early Nov) which meant the condo didn't get too hot and there was a nice breeze. The size is perfect for 3 couples or a large family. We had one couple in the main bed (with an ensuite), a mum and baby in the 2nd bedroom (they used the main bathroom) and another couple upstairs in the loft. The loft was not closed but still private and there was yet another bathroom with shower up in the loft. TVs in each bedroom plus the main living room. The resort had two pools, one warmer which is good for kids (in the other section) and a cooler one in our section. There were always lounge chairs available at the pool and near the water but that may not be the case during peak season, not sure. There was always a bbq available too since you must share the bbq's by the pool. Non-smoking resort which was very nice. There was no real beach (only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars), but you can still access the water for swimming and snorkeling and we spent many late afternoons on the lawn near the water enjoying the sunset, breeze, drinks and appys. There is, however, a beach in front of the resort next door which is easy to walk to. Lots of parking available and this unti is right near the elevator. There was a mix of retired people and families there. Would be good for teens/20's/30's too but the resort quiet time starts at 10pm.
The resort is within a short walk to a grocery store, fish market, abc general store and a few other shops. Close drive to Kapalua and Lahaina. There is also a great beach boardwalk that starts just down the road and takes you along Kaanapali beach for a long way. You can walk on it to Whaler's Village for shopping and restaurants and go even further to check out the hotels, such as the Hyatt. Takes less than 1 hour to walk to Whaler's village (less if at a good pace) and 1.5 hours to the Hyatt.
The description and pictures are accurate and the management company was easy to deal with. They even had a pack n'play and highchair available at no charge. There were some beach chairs in the condo to use but no other beach toys, etc. But that could change if other guests leave things behind.
We would definitely stay in this condo again! Thanks!
