"We are definitely staying here again!"

The view was phenomenal!!! The Kitchen was nice and had everything we could possibly need. Property is in a nice and quiet area. Close to numerous beaches. The beach chairs, the umbrella, and the ice chest were such a nice touch and very much appreciated. The condo was perfect for our needs. The price for ocean front is very good! The condo is starting to show its age, shower is small, and the bed was way too soft for our preference. However, we spent little time there and would definitely stay again.

"Maui no ka 'oi "Maui is the Best""

This is our 5th time to stay in the same complex at Pohailani. First time in 112. It had every thing you might need if you want to cook. The bed was big and comfy. We love the location. Close to all, yet nice quiet location. We love sitting on the lanai and watching the sea turtles. We did have to put the shade down a couple days because the waves were hitting our sliding glass door. The cost of being only feet from the ocean.

"This place is a hidden gem!"

This place is perfect for me and my husband. Small studio but enough room for everything we need. The outdoor lanai/patio is stunning - in the morning we watch the sun rise next to a rainbow, in the afternoon we watch the turtles swim right below us, in the evening we drink our wine as the sun sets. Most everything is provided (parking space, mask/snorkel, towels, dishwasher, A/C, tv), but we would have liked body wash and stronger Wi-Fi. Miranda was very responsive. This place is 6 mins to Kahekili Beach and 15 mins to Front Street. We love this place and we already booked for next year!

"A wonderful stay on the west coast of Maui"

What a relaxing, clean and comfortable spot to stay on the west coast of Maui. The basic amenities we needed to have a great trip were at our fingertips. We found ourselves trying to be home to enjoy sunsets on the lanai and watch the turtles float by. Would love to make it back for another visit. Thanks again!

Our lanai was ten yards from the seawall. We enjoyed watching whales, sea turtles and crabs daily. Pictures of unit are very accurate. Miranda was super responsive to any needs.

We have booked our Maui vacation rentals with Miranda for 5+ years and have always been really please with the accommodations. Our recent stay at the Pohailani ground floor, ocean front unit followed 5 nights at a 5 star resort property. Although the big resort property was gorgeous and had all the amenities, it also had a lot of people and we had a much more relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Pohailani. Quietly reading a book while watching sea turtles and whales in the ocean is what brings us back to Maui almost every year!

"Such a fun place to stay!"

We loved staying here! The lanai on the ocean was definitely the highlight, and we enjoyed watching the sunset, scenery, and whales every night. The location was great, really close to great restaurants and beaches with easy access to highways for exploring the whole island. The bed is very soft with a mattress pad on top, so if that’s not your thing it may make for not great sleeping, and we were only given one and a half rolls of toilet paper for multiple people for six days of stay, but both very mild complaints compared to how great the space and location are. Overall a great place to stay!

"Beautiful Quiet Location"

This was a peaceful location. It was nice to just listen to the waves crashing at nighttime! We watched whales from the Lanai, and saw numerous turtles just beyond the wall. It was an enjoyable trip!

"Ocean Paradise"

Beautiful location! The ocean was 20 ft away from our lanai. We saw turtles, whales and sunsets daily all from the lanai! The unit was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. My only item of note was the bed was a bit soft but other than that it was wonderful.

"Ok Place"

The Pool was dirty, we had Roaches in the Condo Saw 2-3 of them while we were in the condo. Very small, beautiful view from the outside patio, Patio furniture was good but, the one you can pull out and lay on in the sun was very worn and not able to lay on, very dirty and worn out.

This location is easy to get to, close to Lahaina but still remote and private, with an amazing front row seat to the Pacific Ocean! Our favorite place we stayed at.

"Do not fall for this!!!"

Completely different than the pictures. There were roaches in the bathroom and the kitchen including inside the dishes. The handsoap in the bathroom was separated and unusable. The shower wouldnt drain so the water would fill up to the bottom of the door. Would never stay here again. It could be a really nice place if given some care.

"Beautiful Ocean View"

A warm, clean really well taken care of place. The view is unbeatable and with the wind blowing which it always was it was cool inside and out on the covered patio area.
The kitchen was perfect, we were able to cook all of the meals that we wished.
The sound of the ocean hitting the seawall at night is serene and having a parking spot near by was very helpful.
A few surprise items to be mindful of: There is a main road about 25 feet from the bed. The area between the unit and the unit and the water is used as a walkway, this is a bachelor suite so there is no privacy to all and you will have to close and lock the sliding door at night. For example some local set up multiple fishing rods in front of the unit one night and was still standing right there at 1am when we went to bed. This is also a wood frame building and you may have a family of ogres on vacation above you. These things do not take away from the experience, but were a bit of a surprise on arrival.

Great location, everything was in working order, amazing view, nice to have parking spot nearby. Only issue we had was pool was a little dirty but my kids didn’t mind. Would definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay, the apartment was just the way it is explained in the listing. Quiet neighborhood, everything was around 15minutes. Loved it!

Perfect for what we wanted. The unit had everything we needed. We loved being so close to the water in such a private setting. The one issue we had with a sink was dealt with promptly. Would highly recommend this place. It's not posh but boy is it comfortable!

Excellent time. Went spearfishing and would recommend u do to. Rental just as described. Beautiful weather and can’t wait to return. The only downside is a bit of traffic noise, but worth every penny. I love Maui.

Waking up to the sounds of birds and the ocean was how we started our days. The view of the ocean from the lanai was incredible. The property has two well maintained pools and is walkable to restaurants, convenience stores, and a beach. Overall it was a quiet, relaxing stay in a location close to many West Maui attractions.

The ideal location, easy to get to everything. We used the laundry facility, and the rates were reasonable (bring quarters or dollars!) my son & husband used the pool a couple times, that's where my 4 year old practiced snorkeling before doing it in the ocean. Loved seeing the sea turtles every day right outside & all our neighbors (locals & fellow travelers) were so sweet and friendly. The condo was comfortable for a family of 3 and comfortable, definitely agree with previous reviewer: need more than 2 beach towels. 3 Minimum 4 would be even better!

Really enjoyed our stay of 11 days in May. The views were amazing from the lanai, sea turtles on the sea wall. Great views of Lanai and Moloka’i and sunsets every night! The condo has everything you need, towels, beach chairs, umbrella. The kitchen was equipped well, nothing fancy but useable. All in all a great stay and would definitely stay here again!!! Thanks!!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was clean and comfortable.
View was great especially when I was having my morning coffee out on the deck.
Watched the ships sail by watched the sea turtles resting on the rocks just below the rock wall.
Close to the beach and all the amenities.

"Great view in a great location!"

We really enjoyed our stay here! The view was outstanding, and we had turtles right outside out door. There is a small beach about 25 yards away where we could go snorkeling.
The downsides have to do with the ocean taking its toll. It's starting to erode under the seawall, which results in sinkholes developing..not directly in front of this unit, but maybe 2 units down. It didn't effect our stay at all.
Overall, very happy with the unit.

"Perfect ocean front location. Well equipped condo, just the right size for the 2 of us"

We spend a lot of time on the lanai watching the ocean just feet away. Loved following the turtles as they feed among the rocks. So glad we had a table to play cards on, as well as eating meals. The condo was well supplied, but we needed more towels. Miranda was just a phone call away to answer questions or help with problems. Great place to see Maui.

"Disappointed"

Very disappointed Curtains falling off rods, (4 panels that doesn't meet together, gaps between had to pin to stay together for privacy) inch gap to outside where air conditioner vents. Screen for that window laying down, not covering window. Very poor lighting bed area, and living room area. Screen door falls off track EVERYTIME open screen door. Toilet bowl rust stains in bowl. No complaints about kitchen. Nice kitchen. I have pictures. Paid a lot of money for this disappointment. Ruined vacation. I will not book VBRO again at $159.00 for booking fee.

"Perfect Hawaii vacation rental!!!!"

The pictures of this place do no justice. If you have been to Hawaii, you know that a place to stay is just your evening retreat. This place is beyond that, full kitchen and a place to retreat to and watch the whales jump and relax to the sun setting in the evening. Couldn’t ask for a better vacation spot and close to plenty of beaches, food, and shopping. The beach is right in your back yard. Would totally stay here in the future!

Excellent rental next to the ocean! Clean and well kept. Beach chairs and lunch cooler available in unit for day use. Bed was comfortable and unit was spacious! Well appointed and location can’t be beat. The only thing missing was a boogie board. If I make it back to the island, I will definitely try to stay here again. Great host! Thank you!

This unit is very close to the ocean. Excellent views of the crashing water, rainbows and turtles. We had a great 15 day stay here and can not wait to rebook our next stay.

"A very pleasurable place to stay"

This was a very pleasurable place to stay, clean, quiet, close to the water. The staff were easy to work with. Its location is very good. We enjoyed seeing the sea turtles daily.

A few things that could have been better are:
*The pillows and bedding lacked comfort.
*We had three guest registered but the room was stocked for two, in regards to towels and toiletries.
*The radio didn't work it is only compatible with an Iphone 4. The DVD player didn't work, the staff set us up with a replacement.
Bottom line is that we enjoyed our stay and we would rent this unit or another one from this group again.

"All in One - Paradise"

The room, amenities and all were all really well taken care of. The Sunset and the morning views were amazing. We saw the sunsets and rainbows almost everyday. And one afternoon we even saw 15 turtles who came and from all sizes big and small for more than 2 hours.
The place is near to fish market, mac d and the local groceries store. Its a amazing place to stay and have good relaxation with lifelong memories

Great direct oceanfront location. Sunsets, splashing waves, convenient location, good neighbors, all the amenities needed. Totally enjoyed the stay, never needed A/C.

"Excellent choice!"

My wife and I stayed in three VRBO locations in Maui on our recent trip, and this one was the best by far. The location is convenient and provides an excellent view of the ocean with whales jumping in the distance and turtles feeding up against the rock wall you see in the picture. The unit itself came with every amenity we needed. Covered parking, a quality Weber BBQ, and a sand beach right beside building round out the experience.

My one recommendation would be for them to replace the mattress, as the current one has reached the end of it's useful life.

I would definitely stay here again.

Loved everything about this place! The view of the sunset is perfect! So peaceful. Also love that you get your own parking spot. There were some laundry units across the street that we did utilize. The AC is super powerful so it was very useful on hotter days. Many things were provided. Would definitely stay here again.

"Excellent location!"

What you see (in the photos) is what you get! At the price we paid, I could not believe how close we were to the ocean, and the stunning view of the sunset we got every evening! We also saw sea turtles every day. Unit was clean, homey and cozy. The bed could probably use an upgrade, but we had no issues sleeping as the sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep. Great place to stay if you don't need all the fancy resort amenities.

"Excellent for the money!"

Great location, right on the ocean. Dinner on the lanai at sunset was a highlight. Great snorkeling locations all within 10 minutes. (Black Rock, Honolua, Kapalua) The beach next door has disappeared however. Tennis court is right across the street, as is a nice big pool. BBQ is right there 20 ft away. The unit is sized for 2 and has everything you need (except bbq tools, which I hope they get soon). Bed was good, kitchen was great, bathroom was fine. Some of the fixtures, such as the doors and windows were showing their age, but for the money, this was just excellent! We hated leaving and we will be back!

"Fantastic stay!"

Just stayed in this unit for 2 weeks. Had a great time. Unit is right on the water and has great views of turtles. Saw whales in the morning right from the lanai. Unit had everything we needed to cook for our stay! We will say here again, that is for sure. Accessible to the beach and has lounge chairs to layout on the grass if you prefer that. Excellent for parties of two.
