Location was beautiful. View from balcony wonderful. Nice beach a very short walk from unit.

We were speechless when we first walked in because of the beautiful view of the ocean, it’s practically right outside of the balcony. The pictures don’t do the view justice. The unit is comfortable and well stocked. The resort is quiet. I liked that it was smaller but still very nice. We loved the local, order at the counter restaurants just two minutes away. The whole area had a great “local vibe”. The swimming in the ocean is also amazing. Depending on the tide even small children can enjoy it. The water is amazing and clear. Yes, you will see fish! We can’t recommend staying here enough and we’re looking forward to visiting again very soon.

The place was beautiful and breathtaking. The view from the balcony is magnificent. You can snorkel to front of the apartment or just couple minutes of driving. We will come back again

Million dollar views! Oceanfront (no direct beach), but not far to great beaches and the grassy area in front is just as good and we did see some swimmers and waders in there. Great location in Lahaina. So much to see and do and the Condo was in a great location for West Maui stay. Right next to pool also! Don't forget to get takeout from the Fish Market across the street, amazing and fresh food! Food trucks in area also walkable from condo. Kitchen well stocked. Plenty of towels and little amenities. Host was very responsive about fan problem in bedroom. Condo could use a tiny bit of TLC but overall what an amazing, amazing stay! Parking close to condo late at night is a little dicey as spaces fill up quickly .... and our adventures tended to keep us out late, otherwise parking was very close. Safe community.

We had a very relaxing stay and much of that had to do with how comfortable the condo is. The bedroom was comfortable, has a quiet ceiling fan and 2 chest of drawers that held all of our clothing. The bathroom was clean and had many drawers, that again, held all of our toiletries. We didn't cook too much while there, but it is a smartly stocked kitchen and has a good amount of counter space. We so appreciated having the beach towels, chairs and umbrella!
The pools and hot tubs were well kept and always the perfect temperature. The grounds are well-tended and have beautiful ponds with lotus flowers.
The ocean views don't get any better than from this unit! We will definitely return to this home-away-from-home!

Papakea oceanfront condos are our go to place when we visit Maui. Miranda's condo was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend this unit.

We have been to Papakea many times over the years. We enjoyed the oceanfront location, updated furnishings, and the grounds very much. The balcony view is the dolphins was incredible!

Miranda was an excellent host and the property was beautiful! Great experience overall.

The location was great! I needed a place to relax, and it was the perfect place. Lots of good places nearby and walkable. I had a rental car and I barely used gas because there’s so much to do in the area. The view from the balcony is amazing and it was wonderful to hear the sound of the waves crashing for the entire stay. I’m coming back to work from my vacation very relaxed. I would stay here again!

Wow ? wow wow!! I’ve stayed in Maui a dozen times this is my go to location from now on!! Ocean front second floor, awesome condo inside and grounds, pool, activities, centrally located in West Maui, 110% recommended we’ll be back in Feb ‘26!

This was a wonderful place!! Had such a great time here. Very clean with amazing views. Would recommend my friends and family to stay here. Lots to do around the area and very close to so many good spots— food, shopping, and snorkeling!

I would like to say that Miranda’s was a great host. The Airbnb was exactly as the pictures described but more beautiful in person. The condo complex was very safe and lovely. The beach is right at the tip of your feet and walkable outside. Many food places outside to eat from ! It was amazing waking up and seeing the sunrise and going to sleep seeing the sunset. If you are looking for a beautiful place to relax and unwind I would highly recommend staying at Miranda’s Airbnb !

The condo was wonderful. Beautifully appointed throughout, with the most COMFORTABLE bed (med/firm memory foam mattress). New and also comfy, couch and swivel rocker chair. Great for relaxing. Well stocked kitchen. Lanai was amazing for turtle and whale watching! And we snorkeled out front over the reef at the beach every day. The chaise lounge was a lanai plus. Unbelievably perfect space to stay, with great food options, beaches and market a short walk away. Miranda responds within minutes for any inquiries. Our favorite place on Maui, a pure slice of heaven. Highly recommend!

Beautiful views! Property well maintained—we enjoyed our time there. If you get warm at night know there is no AC in the bedroom but a fan is provided for air circulation.

We had a great stay. The condo was EXACTLY as described and matched the pictures. We were able to see whales playing in the ocean from our balcony. The place was in a great location, very well maintained. Miranda was responsive and helpful. The bed was comfortable, etc. We have no complaints. This was a fantastic trip. The only suggestion I have is to maybe add a few more kitchen utensils (cheese grater, potato peeler, some plastic Gladware containers or something similar).

Highlight of our stay was seeing whales, turtles and endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals from our deck. The sound of the ocean is so soothing. Perfect place for a relaxing vacation

What a wonderful place to stay on the west side. We loved the ocean front location. So easy to sit on the lanai and look for whales. The pool and cabana areas were great. Miranda was very responsive to the questions I had. We took advantage of the local food spots nearby: Java Jazz and the Fish Market.

The location is beautiful. The unit has front row on a 180 degree ocean view. It is one of the best locations at Papakea. The unit has been tastefully redone and it has many conveniences like additional finds and snorkels for guests. My friend and I had a great time. If you need the pullout bed in the living room make sure you ask Miranda whether the new sofa bed has arrived. I slept on the current sofa bed in the unit and it is less than ideal.

We couldn’t imagine anything more satisfying. We will be back. Hopefully sooner than later. There were turtles right out front, lots of things to do within walking distance, hot tub was great and it was a quiet place!

We reached out to Miranda with a same day request and she was quick to respond and confirm all the details for what would be a late check in. When we arrived it was too dark to take in the ocean view, but falling asleep listening to the waves crash was so magical. Waking up the beautiful blue ocean with dozens of whales playing was such a magical treat. We loved the location and unit so much that we even extended our trip. Once again, Miranda was quick to respond and work on updating our reservation with this other last minute request.

The location was wonderful and made it easy to access everything.

This place was absolutely beautiful!! The pictures blow you away but man, just wait until you get there! Unbelievable. It’s in such a great spot, Ka’anapali Beach is a 5-10 minute drive, lots of shops and food within walking distance, everything was amazing for us! Miranda, thank you for providing such an immaculate getaway.

Unbeatable view and value! Miranda’s waterfront unit is a hidden gem at Papakea. More private and quiet than the surrounding resorts, usable and tidy pools and activities right just steps away. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend highly to others.

The unit itself was clean, had ample space for two guests, and everything was operational and easy as it should be. Kitchen was well outfitted for a couple meals in the unit. Closet had beach gear (chairs, umbrella, mats, etc.) and games to keep us on the go without having to rent anything outside Papakea. Hope to be back soon!

Our stay was amazing! The pictures of the view don’t do justice. Oceanfront with a great grass lawn to lay out on. Beach was just steps down. Beautiful community and our host was very quick to respond and very helpful. Highly recommend and will be coming back!

Visited for last minute birthday trip. Host Miranda was very nice and responsive. The place was lovely and spacious. Beautiful oceanfront location. Exactly what we wanted. Will book again and again. Only one small issue is when we arrived the placed smelled like bug spray. But, we just aired out the place for a few hours and enjoyed the beach nearby. Again, minor thing.

Kitchen and bathroom was well equipped with everything we needed. Resort had lots to offer. Classes every morning.

Resort was in a convenient and quiet location. Everyone was super friendly. Good mix of couples, singles, and families of all ages. This is a good place to stay if you are just wanting to sit on the beach nearby and have rest and relaxation time. Night life was tough in this area. So, we found ourselves driving to other areas,but found the pizza place across the street and the sushi place about a mile down the road fun.

We had an amazing time at Miranda's place. This apartment has completely unobstructed ocean views. We loved waking up to that view every morning and watching whales and sunsets right from our lenai. Beach was right there, just a few steps away. Getting into the ocean was easy as it doesn't become deep right away. Also, Papakea is a well maintained property with green lawns, multiple beach chairs, heated swimming pools and hot tub. We loved it so much we extended our stay by a day. We'll definitely stay here on our future visits to Maui.

We had a lovely 8 night stay here early March 2019. The unit was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. It was so nice to have beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler provided as well. The property was great, and being on the ground floor, the pool was only steps away. We could walk a few more steps and watch the whales off the property as well! We used the grills several nights and took part in some of the activities, lei making being one. We would definitely look into booking this unit if we come back to Maui!

WOW! What an amazing find......its no wonder the condo is already booked for my trip next year!!! Originally, I had booked a unit in another complex and was emailed that the owners decided to use it and I had no place to stay. After staying in this unit Feb 21- March 1, 2019......I am surprised this unit was even available. This unit had everything you could need during your stay. Every kitchen item you can imagine, beach gear, steps away from 6 BBQ's at the pool and a few more steps to the beach. In my opinion, its the perfect proximity to both. You have a nice view of the ocean, but you dont have people standing in front of your place for that view! Easy check-in and check-out. The staff at Papakea is super friendly and helpful. Also, the resort fee was a mere $17/day. Honestly, you can go wrong staying at Papakea and this unit is fabulous.
My ONE suggestion for this unit - the mattress should be changes annually as it was pretty worn out.

This Condo was on the first floor. Very convenient to the parking lot and to the grills in the pool area. Close to shopping areas. Condo was quiet. Saw Whales from the patio area. Check-in was easy with no problems.

We visited Papakea from Dec.20 - Jan. 3. The Unit was clean & looked just like the pictures on the internet, it was also fully stocked with lots of extra kitchen supplies and had 3 beach chairs and 2 boogie boards for us to use. The outside grounds were nicely kept and lots of games for kids & adults to do. We BBQ each night for supper & never had to wait on a bbq and they were always kept clean. The kids enjoyed the pools (there are two on the property) although it would be nice if both pools were heated. If you enjoy sitting out on your lanai visiting with friends and family after 10 PM then expect the security guard to come around claiming that he received a complaint about the noise. Apparently you can sit out there past 10 PM but regular talking is too much noise for some people, this is our only complaint about the property otherwise it was great. We asked Miranda for a late check out as our plane didn't leave until evening & she accommodated us which we were so grateful for. We would definitely recommend Papakea and we hope to return next year.

We have holidayed at Papakea for the past eight years, staying in various units. We are returning to this one next year. It was clean, well-equipped with all the comforts of home. The appliances were fairly new and worked well. There were no surprises. We especially enjoyed the convenience of the ground floor. It was close to all the amenities and extended our living space. Miranda was great to deal with, answering our emails immediately. We are looking forward to another stay in this unit.

Loved this unit. Was our first time to Maui, this unit was very peaceful, clean, and beautiful views. Within minutes to downtown Lahaina, beaches, and more!! We can't wait to go again.

Newly upated in all rooms! Granite kitchen counters and new appliances made it a great place to prepare our meals when we did nit go out! Colors and art work gave this condo a warm feeling through out.
I look forward to our next getaway! Will definitely stay here again!

Sadly we could only stay for three days but had lovely weather and warm mild winds. Feb 4-7, 2016
The unit was well supplied and we really appreciated the large supply of spices in the kitchen and the extra large makeup mirror in the bathroom. In the three days we were there we say over 30 whales from the grassy shore at the resort. We spent most of our time peering through binoculars and long lens camera.
The only thing I don't like in general is the $15 per day resort fee but the wifi connection worked great.
We look forward to returning some day soon.

My wife and I spent a week here. We loved the location. It is a ground level corner unit with a view of the water and very close to the pool/hot tub/grilling area. It was nice to be able to walk back and forth from the pool but far enough away to still feel private. The unit has been completely remodeled with a new washer/dryer unit, flat screen TV's, and a beautiful tile and glass shower just to name a few. There is a grocery store within walking distance as well as a few restaurants and farmers market on the weekends. Papakea is nice because the walking/biking path begins just outside the south edge of the property and goes along the beach all the way to the Kaanapali golf course but doesn't get all of the foot traffic that the other resorts get from the path. We will be back!

First... I was a little hesitant to rent this unit after reading previous reviews. However... we had a great stay and the view from the lanai was AMAZING!! Whale season would be an absolute perfect time to watch the whales pass between Maui and Molokai. The unit is not "fancy" but completely adequate for a long visit. My father said the sofa sleeper was very comfortable. The Bedroom has a comfortable king bed but no air conditioning... not required.... the breeze thru the unit was perfect for a comfortable night sleep in July. The kitchen offers the minimums for cooking but still adequate for basic cooking and you have the grills by the pool. Papakea is a great property and they have every island tour/event/outing available at the front desk as well as the next door "sister property" has SCUBA intro in the pool every morning and walk out diving that was great. The two pools and hot tubs were very nice and a score for my 13 year old son. The ocean is completely accessible for all ages and the reef protects the first 30 yards for some safe and sightful snorkeling. (Was told at times of the year the sand can be washed away making water access a little difficult. The resort is under renovation and the noise is loud thru the day - recommend checking the web site for Papakea and identifying where the construction is and if you feel it will interrupt your relaxation for your stay. It was loud but only during the weekdays and quiet by dinner time. There are plenty of places in walking distance to eat and a grocery store and farmers market is close as well. There are some GREAT beaches within 10-20 minute drive along the coast. Honolua Bay has rocky access but offers the best snorkeling in the area. I would not hesitate to book this unit again!

We have stayed in this unit 3 times over last four years, Always clean and comfortable, Last year unit was up dated, new refrigerator, still hard bed, good for my back. Unit is not the Reitz But very relaxing with a Million Dollar View. We loved the farmers mkt. across street. Loved Wine & Dinner on the lania. We'll be back in Jan 2014. Thanks for the Good Times.
